Summer Chamber Music Experience at The Parkwood Music House

Mon. Aug 17– Fri. Aug 22

8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Students in grades 4 – 10 who play orchestral string instruments (Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass), can come to 5 days at The Parkwood Music House during the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for musical experiences and fun. Students will play in small instrumental groups, participate in music theory games, choose two other activities and observe performances both live and on DVD and Video, and share their thoughts with others. Each day will provide opportunities for creative exploration, laughter, developing friendships with other friends in music and intensive study.

 

The staff will be professionals in their fields who are experienced working with students. Small ensemble sizes afford an intensive, playful, nurturing experience. A snack is provided. Bring a bag lunch and wear comfortable clothes.

Highlights of a day at the Parkwood Music House chamber music Camp will include:

 

  • Coaching in small groups

  • Discussion in large groups

  • Music Theory games

  • Coached practice times

  • 2 Activity choice periods picked according to preferences on applications such as: Watercolors, Frisbee, Reading, Composition (with $10.00 download done before sessions onto personal laptops), Clay, Crocheting, etc.

  • Yoga relaxation at day’s end

 

Fridays will feature a concert for the parents at 6:00 p.m.

 

Lunch & Snacks! 

 

Child brings own lunch each day.
Parkwood House will provide wholesome snacks and water.

 

Tuition

 

$300.00 a child plus a $30 supply fee

Financial Need can be requested through Director

 

$50.00 Deposit due May 1st.

Balance due June 15th
After Camp care – Extra fee

Registration

 

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Full tuition must be paid before the first class meeting. Refunds are available only if the session is full or canceled (allow 30 days for refund). Tuition reserves your place in class. You must fill out a liability form on the first day.

Ensemble sizes will be from 2-4 players.

Camp will run with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 10 students per session.
